Create a Personal Land Acknowledgement

What is a Land Acknowledgment?

A Land Acknowledgment is an official declaration (written or spoken) by an organization or individual acknowledging the historical and contemporary presence of Indigenous peoples on the land of a traditional territory. Thus, it should focus on the past, present, and future.

Action for Access in Education Initiative

Screen Shot 2022-11-24 at 9.06.55 AM.png
We are calling on all Ontario residents to join us in our 'Action for Access in Education' Initiative. This initiative was inspired by the story of Michelle Cousins and her 14-year-old daughter Colette. Colette has been left without proper access within her high school in Toronto due to the lack of a comprehensive accommodations policy. This has left Michelle parked close to the school during each school day to ensure she is available to assist Colette when needed.

Take Action with us!

Join us in writing letters to our representatives to appeal to the Minister of Education to take immediate action in the review and implementation of the recommendations made by the the Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) Education Standards Development Committee.

Thank-you!

A huge thank-you from Colette, Michelle, and all of us at Chapters4Change for your support!
